Who is Techie Gal?
WHO IS GA TECHIE GAL?
My name is Susan Brandon and I am currently in my 28th year as an educator in Fulton County Schools, GA. I love collaborating with educational professionals, supporting teachers, students and continuously expanding my knowledge about using technology create meaning learning experiences. I have taught every grade first through eighth, served as an elementary and middle school Assistant Principal of Curriculum, held the role of Instructional Technology Specialist for my school district, and helped create digital learning experiences for youth across the U.S. and abroad via my role of Sr. Director, Digital Youth Development for Boys & Girls Clubs of America. I look forward to sharing technology tips and tricks via my "Techie Gal's Tech Tips" blog.
I earned both my B.S. in Elementary Education as well as my M.Ed. in Educational Leadership at the University of South Florida and earned my Ed.S. in Instructional Technology from Kennesaw State University. A few career highlights include earning my National Board Certification in 2001, serving as a State of Florida Education Liaison and presenting at several technology conferences. I have traveled the U.S. meeting with educators and parent groups, and conducted trainings related to effective reading and writing strategies, parent and community involvement, and transformational technology use in schools. I have been recognized as a Tech4Learning Innovative Educator and as a Microsoft Innovative Educator Trainer.
While I've been able to participate in some amazing professional opportunities, I must say my proudest moments come from hearing students (past and present) and colleagues share all of the wonderful adventures they're having, as well as how they are now impacting others in positive ways! Keep paying it forward, my fearless crew! Let me add how lucky I am to stay in contact with some of the teachers who greatly impacted who I am today.
Be sure to check back as new topics will be added regularly. Hope you enjoy and learn a new tip or trick to try out yourself!
